Post here what/wich games plus effects you would like to see with amBX.

My first example would be STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl and the following up in March STALKER: Clear Skies.

Because it was one of most atmospheric games of 2007, will make this game a great add on to the amBX list to fully bring the atmospheric experience to life.

Here are a few examples:

1: breezes of wind that randomly appear or when it's storming, the fans will blow.
2: lighting strikes and flash lights off other stalkers and environment lighting/gun fire where the amBX lighting will react to
3: Places off radiation and anomalies when nearing then/explosions the rumbler will viberate

I second that, i dont play much, but a friend said that game would be interesting. Would be cool if that one game i play in a year would support the lights. :)

Here I have another example for battlefield 2142
If the amBX team can pull this off, I think that there al whole lot off gamers will be thinking to obtain an amBX kit :o

Infantry:

1: When you'r being killed 2 seconds off heavy rumble and wind blowing.
2: Rumbling when taking damage form gunfire and bloody knifes.
3: Rumble and wind form explosions.
4: Only wind when there's a EMP blast.
5: When you get resurrected by an medic a quick rumble with a 3 seconds wind.
6: when flying with a escape pod when being in the air till you hit the ground wind will blow.
7: Parachute jump a wind effect.

(no rumble when firing you'r weapons might be confusing during heavy infantry battle servers)

Vehicles:

8: When driving/flying a jeep/apc/tank/battlewalker/gunship/airtransport/Goliath/Hachimoto/stationary guns and anti air/titan guns: firing and taking damage a rumble will take place.
9: An wind effect when driving the jeep and Hachimoto by activating the turbo.
10: And last bust not least a heavy rumbling and wind when the TITAN explodes :wink:

HELL YEAH
i desperately need 2142 ambx support
i dont have rumble/fans pack so im just talking about the lights
- flash red when being hit (all lights)
-flash (yellow, orange) when shooting (front lights)
- flash white when healing or reviving (all lights)
- flash regreen/red when capturing/losing flags
and so on
and so on

it would rock if you guys could pull this off

I would love Ambx support for Outrun 2006 Coast 2 Coast though I appreciate it's a bit of a cult classic and probably isn't high on the priority list. Support for FEAR would be nice too.

I was using the arcade emulator MAME on the weekend playing Turbo Outrun (yes I love outrun games) and I was amazed to find that Ambx works with MAME too! The lighting effects were really great in this particular game as you race across America the weather changes and you go into tunnels etc the Ambx lights worked really well, better than they did in Sega Rally even :)

I hope that eventually the Ambx lights will work with almost everything, including my favourite DVD playing software (Zoom player with Nvidia Purevideo codec)

Less hardcore but I think full amBX support for the episodic Sam & Max series of games could be really interesting. With a limited number of locations in each episode it presumably wouldn't be too difficult to implement but would allow for some interesting effects.

Lighting already works reasonably well but could certainly be enhanced with full support.

psilocybe I also do not own the rumble and fans (extention kit) it's a nice peace of hardware, but the only down sight is that they do not support enough games to work with.
It is still to early, but that's just me but it needs more updates and game applications.

There for I've made this section where gamers can share there idea's how it should be used.
Becauce I do not think that amBX team know all the games through and through ,
What better way by asking the gamers who have played games for 30 to 200 or hours experience.

There for we all making the product better in the way it should be.

i totally agree with you

did some more bf2142 "lights" thinking
- make the front lights go out when using the camouflage device, so only the wallwasher remains

- make the wallwasher go nuts when being in an orbital bombardment

- make ALL the lights flash in sync with the blue light from a EPM bombardment (kind of distorted flashing), but still use the front lights to display other colors when needed (when being shot for instance, or when taking flag,.....)

- make wallwasher red when being dead, let the front lights display the color of the map where you choose your next spawnpoint

-make the wallwasher red when you go near a explosive remote device (apm mine, rdx packet)
this is also displayed in the game in the bottom of the screen by a little icon with a skull, so it must be possible to link this to an action from the lights i think.

- RAISE HELL WHEN THE TITAN EXPLODES !!!

That would be cheating :oops:

I know that does things are annoying but still I have to disagree for this option.
And what amBX really should watch out for, not become product to cheat in games !!

I'm really against cheating/unfair playing/respawn killing and so on.

hmmm i dont see it as cheating
in game there is already an icon on your screen notifiying you that you are near a mine/rdx.
its on the bottom of the screen. a little icon with a skull on it.
so if its already part of the game i do not consider it as cheating.
if the icon wasnt there it would be cheating i agree.

Since we were talking about STALKER before, seems its not working with FXgen+, its showing in the list, i set it to activated, but its not lighting. Alle other apps and stuff work fine.

Dear icke,

Stalker is not currently supported by the FXGen or FXGen+. Please check here to see if we have tested the title. http://www.ambx.com/site/consumer/games/gamingFXGen

The FXGen(s) work by detecting the presence of DirectX / OpenGL within an application to decided if it should try and generate lighting effects. We have deliberatly designed this so that any Dx8/9/10 or OGL based game could be FXGen compatible.

Unfortunatly, due to the way games are designed, this may not work in all cases. We test a vast range of games every few weeks, to make sure the new versions of the FXGen are compatible, to keep up with game patches, Direct X changes, and to cover new games, but we cant do every single game.

Any game that can work but is nto tested by us will appear as "Enabled - untested", e.g. some of the runtime detection tests have passed, but we cannot gaurentee it working.

Thank you for expressing an interest in having "Stalker" added to the list. I will add it to the "to do" list, to try and see what the problem is.
