VLC media player

To get VLC Player recognised by amBX you need to run it in OpenGL or Direct3D (DirectX 3D) video mode.

The easiest way is to use the short-cut in the Start Menu that gets installed with VLC Player: 

Start Menu > VideoLAN > Quick Settings > Video > Set Video mode to Direct3D

or 

Start Menu > VideoLAN > Quick Settings > Video > Set Video mode to OpenGL

Or you can set this in the Preferences in the menu Tools > Preferences > Video > Output
